SINTFLUT
Electronic sound, acoustic live music, body movement, singing and speech are composed into a performance.
The Flood is a myth of enormous destruction and new beginnings. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, in the Bible, in Greek mythology and in many other myths of the world, God or the gods revoke creation in their wrath - above all mankind. With a mighty gesture, they wipe the slate clean and make a tabula rasa on the world, which is now built and set up and in orbit. The beginning, chaos returns, the heavens collapse, the mythical rivers of Eden flood, the waters below and above the expanse mingle again, and the earth is under the dominion of water. The chaos is that of water, with its terrible weight and destructive power of the deep - it is also an opportunity for survival and a new beginning. [...]
Smoke approaches in the distance. A scattered, vaporous mist, a grey-green haze, a shimmering, sourceless light. Inexorably swirling, its sound vibrates low and floats metallically high at the same time, its tempo is laceratingly slow and unimaginably, incomprehensibly fast. It is in the distance, but it rises. It is far away, but it spreads out.
It is above us.
It is here.
